Dominic began his football with the West Ham United youth set up, but was released in the summer of 2007. The pacey left sided winger, joined Dagenham & Redbridge, and after a loan spell with Thurrock, attracted the attention of Peterborough United. He signed for them on 27 August 2008, for a fee believed to be around £200,000. Dominic had played 27 games for Posh, scoring twice, and also had a loan spell with Chesterfield in January 2010 for the remainder of the season where he scored twice in 10 appearances.

He arrived at Nene Park on 16 August 2010, initially on a month’s loan from Peterborough United. He made his debut for Diamonds on 17 August 2010 at Bath City, and early in September, the loan deal was extended until the end of the year, but he returned to Peterborough United in mid-November. Ryan Charles

Ryan Charles

Born 30 September 1989 (Age 20 at debut)

Position: Forward

(Diamonds player #345)

Total appearances 44 – 11 goals

(39 League, 2 FA Cup, 2 FA Trophy, 1 Hillier Senior Cup)

Debut:

14 August 2010 (Home Fleetwood Town)

Final game:

25 April 2011 (Home Kidderminster Harriers)

Ryan began his career at Luton Town, having been with the club as a schoolboy since the age of 9. After two successful seasons in the youth team as a striker / winger, he made his Hatters first team debut against Southend United in a League 1 game in March 2008 and a full first team debut against Carlisle United in the following game. He went on to make six starts in the remainder of that League 1 season. As the Hatters dropped into League 2 and then the Conference, his opportunities were limited by injury, as well as a number of managerial changes at the club. During his time at Luton, he went on loan to Hitchin Town and Hinckley United and in March 2009, went on loan to Kettering Town, before going on a one month loan to Kidderminster Harriers the following season in November 2009. He was released by Luton at the end of the season, and joined Diamonds on 1 July 2010.

Ryan Charles

He made his Diamonds debut as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against Fleetwood Town on 14 August 2010 and made his full debut on 21 August at Barrow. He scored his debut goal for the Diamonds on 28 August 2010 in the 4-1 victory over Grimsby Town. And went on to make 44 appearances, although 19 of those were off the bench. He had the honour of scoring Diamonds last ever goal – an injury time winner against old rivals Kidderminster Harriers. On 14 June 2011 he signed a one year deal with Cambridge United, but went out on a loan deal to fellow Conference side Newport County on 6 January 2012. On his return to Cambridge at the end of the season, Ryan was released and eventually signed a one year deal with Newport County on 17 June 2012, but he was released from his contract by mutual consent on 5 February 2013. Two days later, Ryan joined Southern League Premier side Hemel Hempstead Town, but after just 6 appearances for the Tudors, he moved to Conference South side Bath City on 5 March 2013. After just 8 appearances however, Ryan returned to Hemel Hempstead Town in mid-April to assist their campaign for promotion, scoring twice in the play-off semi-final. He left the Tudors in the summer, and signed for Southern League Premier side Frome Town in August 2013. Ryan moved to Southern League Division One South & West side Merthyr Town on 9 October 2013, assisting them to the Play-Offs, but left at the end of the season. Although it was reported on 6 June 2014 that he had joined Isthmian Premier side Billericay Town, the announcement turned out to be premature and he subsequently joined Conference South side Bishop’s Stortford on 25 June 2014, but his appearances the following season were for Chesham United and Berkhamsted.

Known as Ryan Laville for a while, he went on to play for a number of local clubs in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, including Leverstock Green and Bovingdon before retiring from the game. He became manager of Bovingdon after the end of the 2018-19 season.

He was released in the summer of 2008, and joined Wycombe Wanderers on 16 June. Lewwis Spence celebrates at Kettering

He went on loan with Dover Athletic for one month on 20 January 2011, and this loan was extended when the initial period was complete.

Lewwis Spence

His contract was cancelled by mutual consent in March 2011 and shortly afterwards, he signed on a permanent basis for Dover Athletic, however, he was released at the end of the season. Injury led to a long lay-off and on 14 June 2012, Lewwis joined Conference North side Bishop’s Stortford, before a move to Isthmian Division One North side Thurrock in mid-February 2013. He then moved to his native Scotland later in the year, signing for Division One side Dunfermline Athletic and making 7 appearances for the club. On 17 June 2014, Lewwis re-joined Isthmian Division One North side Thurrock. He left to join Greenwich Borough for the 2016/17 campaign, but was back at Thurrock the following season. He moved to AFC Hornchurch prior to the start of the 2018/19 season, and was still a player there in the 2021/22 season.

Rene started his career with his home town club of Bedford Town, moving to Kettering Town in July 2006 and training as an electrician. He had a very successful time with the Poppies, scoring 25 goals in 40 appearances and attracting the interest of League One side Peterborough United. He signed a four year deal with the Posh on 2 May 2007, but found little opportunity to gain a regular place in the first team. In January 2008, he went out on loan to Rochdale until the end of the season, and in August 2008, went on a season long loan to Morecambe. The following season, he was still out of favour and went to Lincoln City for a three month loan in August 2010, finishing the season with Gillingham in January 2010, once again until the end of the season. After Lee Tomlin had left to join the Posh during July, manager Justin Edinburgh brought the twenty-three year old striker in for some of the pre-season friendlies, and after further discussions, he arrived on a half-season loan on 13 August 2010.

Rene Howe Kettering

He made his Diamonds debut in the 1-1 draw against Fleetwood Town on 14 August 2010 and got his debut goal for the club on 24 August, scoring the winner against AFC Wimbledon at Nene Park.

On 13 July 2011, Rene signed a two-year deal with League Two side Torquay United. After some 30 goals in 89 appearances, Rene left at the end of his contract, and signed a two-year deal with League Two side Burton Albion on 12 July 2013. After a fall-out with manager Gary Rowett, Rene left by mutual consent on 9 January 2014 after 19 appearances and two goals, signing an eighteen month contract with his former boss Justin Edinburgh at League Two Newport County the same day.

The following season, Donovan went on a season long loan with Kilmarnock. After his release by Coventry in the summer of 2009, he spent a short period with Maltese side Floriana, before joining Scottish Division 1 side Morton in February 2010. Donovan arrived at Nene Park on 6 August 2010 on a short term contract.

He made his Diamonds debut in the 1-1 draw against Fleetwood Town on 14 August 2010 at the start of the Conference season, and made a further substitute appearance before leaving the club after his contract was not renewed at the beginning of September 2010. He signed for Conference North side Nuneaton Town on 17 September, before signing for Conference South side Dover Athletic on 8 December 2010. After 18 months with the Whites, he left at the end of the 2011/2012 season, signing for Conference South rivals Boreham Wood on 1 June 2012. He failed to play in any of their pre-season games, and eventually signed for Conference North side Bishop’s Stortford on 16 August 2012 making two appearances at the start of the season before joining newly promoted Conference side Nuneaton Town on 31 August 2012 on a non-contract basis. His stay was short lived however, and he signed for Conference South side Chelmsford City on 28 September 2012. Donovan helped the Clarets to the Play-Off Final in May, losing out to Salisbury City, but left at the end of the season. On 9 July 2013, he signed for fellow Conference South side Boreham Wood, but left after some four months, joining Isthmian Division One North side Tilbury on 8 November 2013. He left at the end of the season, and joined Conference North side Tamworth on 2 August 2014. He moved to Bishop’s Stortford two months later, spending the remainder of the season there, before spending the next two seasons with VCD Athletic. He had a brief spell with Kingstonian in 2017 before joining Thamesmead Town.

George was previously with Leyton Orient’s youth set up, but trialled with Diamonds at the end of his Under 16 year, and was offered a scholarship after some excellent performances against Southend and Millwall. A strong no nonsense centre back, George made his only senior appearance against Kettering Town in the Hillier Senior Cup on 17 November 2009, shortly after his 17th birthday, playing centre-back against a strikeforce that included Anthony Elding, Damian Spencer and Moses Ashikodi for the full 120 minutes.

youth v rushden & higham

In the 2010/2011 season, he played a major part in the success of the Diamonds Youth Team, helping them to the final of the Midland Youth Cup, although he had to miss a number of games due to injury. After a brief work experience at Rushden & Higham United, he had the chance to gain experience of men’s football at Great Wakering Rovers, and won a number of “Man of the Match” awards during his stay. George had a trial at Southend United in March 2011, which led to a contract with the club. On 8 August 2011, he returned to join Great Wakering Rovers on loan / work experience. Injury saw him return to Southend, and he played in their County Cup fixture on 9 November against Waltham Forest, before going out on loan to Isthmian Division One North side Malden & Tiptree the following week, and Isthmian Premier side East Thurrock United. He was later released by Southend and joined Conference North side Bishop’s Stortford on 2 January 2012. George stayed there just two months before joining Conference South side Thurrock on 9 March 2012. He left the Fleet at the end of the season, and went on a trial at League Two side Torquay United during early August, eventually earning a short term deal on 11 September 2012, until the end of the year. He was released at the end of the season, and joined Isthmian Premier side Canvey island on 5 August 2013. On 11 October 2013, George joined Isthmian Division One North side Witham Town, but stayed only a couple of months before moving on to join Isthmian Premier side Margate on 21 January 2014. He was released by the Gate on 1 May 2014, and joined Isthmian Division One North side Heybridge Swifts on 7 August 2014. He remained there less than a month, returning to Isthmian Division One North side Great Wakering Rovers during early-September 2014.
