George was previously with Leyton Orient’s youth set up, but trialled with Diamonds at the end of his Under 16 year, and was offered a scholarship after some excellent performances against Southend and Millwall. A strong no nonsense centre back, George made his only senior appearance against Kettering Town in the Hillier Senior Cup on 17 November 2009, shortly after his 17th birthday, playing centre-back against a strikeforce that included Anthony Elding, Damian Spencer and Moses Ashikodi for the full 120 minutes.
In the 2010/2011 season, he played a major part in the success of the Diamonds Youth Team, helping them to the final of the Midland Youth Cup, although he had to miss a number of games due to injury. After a brief work experience at Rushden & Higham United, he had the chance to gain experience of men’s football at Great Wakering Rovers, and won a number of “Man of the Match” awards during his stay. George had a trial at Southend United in March 2011, which led to a contract with the club. On 8 August 2011, he returned to join Great Wakering Rovers on loan / work experience. Injury saw him return to Southend, and he played in their County Cup fixture on 9 November against Waltham Forest, before going out on loan to Isthmian Division One North side Malden & Tiptree the following week, and Isthmian Premier side East Thurrock United. He was later released by Southend and joined Conference North side Bishop’s Stortford on 2 January 2012. George stayed there just two months before joining Conference South side Thurrock on 9 March 2012. He left the Fleet at the end of the season, and went on a trial at League Two side Torquay United during early August, eventually earning a short term deal on 11 September 2012, until the end of the year. He was released at the end of the season, and joined Isthmian Premier side Canvey island on 5 August 2013. On 11 October 2013, George joined Isthmian Division One North side Witham Town, but stayed only a couple of months before moving on to join Isthmian Premier side Margate on 21 January 2014. He was released by the Gate on 1 May 2014, and joined Isthmian Division One North side Heybridge Swifts on 7 August 2014. He remained there less than a month, returning to Isthmian Division One North side Great Wakering Rovers during early-September 2014.
