Lewis joined Diamonds as an under-15 player, and progressed through the youth set up. Able to play in a central or wide midfield role as well as up-front, his versatility earned him a place in reserve games and in the County Cup squad in the 2007/2008 season. He made his first team debut in the Hillier Senior Cup when he came on as a half-time substitute against Corby Town in October 2007, and then also appeared against Cogenhoe United in the next round. He made a further appearance from the bench the following season, while continuing with Youth setup.

In the spring of 2009 he went on a work experience loan to Hemel Hempstead Town of the Southern League Premier, and also played in the final of the Midland Youth Cup. His performances were rewarded when he was offered a pro deal to keep him at the Diamonds once his scholarship was complete. This deal was signed shortly before the start of the 2009/2010 season along with fellow graduates Jack Higgins and Joe Day. Although allocated the squad number 21, he went back to Hamel Hempstead Town on loan at the start of the season, returning in December 2009. A further loan period at Southern League side Banbury United followed in January, and he remained their until the end of the season, scoring twice. Lewis was released by Diamonds in May 2010. In August 2010, Lewis joined UCL side St.Neots Town. After several successful seasons with St Neots he moved to Boston United in December 2015. He signed for St Ives Town in summer 2017, staying there for a short while before joining Peterborough Sports in October 2017.
