Jason started his career at Hayes in 1992, progressing through the club’s youth system to spend nine years with the club. During his time there, he faced Diamonds several times, scoring an own goal on one occasion. His spell at Hayes came to an end in May 2001, when he signed for Stevenage Borough. It was another long spell, spending another six and a half years with the club becoming the club captain and a fans favourite. He also made appearances for the England nonleague side. Whilst with Stevenage, Jason played under the then Diamonds Manager, Graham Westley and was part of the Borough side that narrowly lost out 1-0 to Carlisle United in the Conference Play-Off Final in May 2005. In October 2006, Jason went on a three month loan spell with York City before returning in January. He was released by Borough on 31 January 2007 after 158 appearances, allowing him to become a free agent and sign outside the transfer window and it was on 6 February 2007 that he came to Nene Park on a deal until the end of the season.
He played seven games during his spell with Diamonds, but was released in May 2007 after failing to secure an extension to his stay. After an approach by York City to return, he elected to join AFC Wimbledon, where he led the team into the Conference South, and then the Conference the following season. Despite being Wimbledon ‘player of the season’, he was released at the end of the season and joined Ryman Premier League side Sutton United on 2 June 2009 as club captain. After a serious of injuries, Jason announced his retirement from football in late-October 2010 to concentrate on coaching and management, and on 5 November 2010, he became assistant manager at Conference South side Boreham Wood, helping them to avoid relegation. He was unable to continue in that role the following season and resigned on 5 August 2011 due to “work and family commitments”, but was appointed assistant manager at Isthmian Premier side Harrow Borough on 9 September 2011. On 13 June 2013, Jason left Harrow to return to his former club, League One side Stevenage as First Team Coach. After spending time back at Woking as Assistant Manager he return to a coaching role at Stevenage in the summer of 2018, working for Dino Maamria. He was appointed Assistant Manager at Sutton United prior to the 2019/20 season.
