Mark joined Atherstone United as a young central defender at the beginning of the 1998/99 season. He signed for Telford United the following season and after three years, joined Conference side Doncaster Rovers for a £10,000 transfer fee. During his stay with Rovers they regained their Football League status via the inaugural play-off final at the Britannia Stadium in May 2003, although he remained on the bench throughout the 3-2 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge. He was loaned out to Chester City in February 2006, before joining Boston United in May.

His stay with the Pilgrims was short lived, being loaned out initially to Darlington, before arriving at Nene Park for a one month loan on 12th January 2007, making his debut as a substitute at Witton Albion the following afternoon. The loan was later extended until the end of the season. He was allocated squad number 25 during his time with here.

At the end of his loan, he returned to Boston United, but was immediately released and joined Cambridge United before the start of the 2007/2008 season. Mark left Cambridge United after their play-off final defeat and joined Stevenage Borough on 30 May 2008 for a nominal fee, becoming part of their promotion winning side in the 2009/2010 season. He was released at the end of the season however, and joined Kidderminster Harriers on a one year deal on 30 June 2010. After the single season, he joined Conference North side Nuneaton Town on 26 May 2011 for the following season, before joining Southern League Premier side Barwell on 12 June 2012. On 25 October 2013, Mark moved to NPL Division One South side Bedworth United, staying with the club through into the 2018/19 season. In August 2019 he joined Coventry Sphinx aged 43.
