He went on a one month loan to Bedford Town on 9 February 2007, then on return, went out on loan again on 16 March to Heybridge Swifts, where he played until the end of the season. He moved south during the following summer, joining newly promoted Conference South side Dartford in July 2010. On 7 May 2013, it was announced that Tom would be joining fellow Conference side Cambridge United for the 2013/2014 season. He was released by Cambridge in January 2015, joining Ebbsfleet United.
