Tom started his career in the youth set up at Northampton Town in 2005. He spent a half-season loan at Nuneaton Borough in August 2006, but on his return to Northampton, he was released. He joined Rushden & Diamonds on 9 January 2007, initially on non-contract forms, but was signed until the end of the following season on 31 January. He went on a one month loan to Bedford Town on 9 February 2007, then on return, went out on loan again on 16 March to Heybridge Swifts, where he played until the end of the season. Although he received the squad number 23 for the 2007/08 season, he was released by mutual consent on 20 August, and joined Corby Town. In January 2008, he signed for Hinckley United of the Conference North. A move to Solihull Moors followed in February 2009, before signing for Conference North side Corby Town on 1 June 2009, joining several other former Diamonds players at the newly promoted club. He was released by Corby before the season started, moving to Ilkeston Town in early August 2009. He moved south during the following summer, joining newly promoted Conference South side Dartford in July 2010. On 7 May 2013, it was announced that Tom would be joining fellow Conference side Cambridge United for the 2013/2014 season. He was released by Cambridge in January 2015, joining Ebbsfleet United. He rejoined Dartford for the 2016-17 season and was still there as club captain during the 2021-22 season. His Wikipedia page is here.
