In the summer of 1998, he joined Macclesfield Town making over 100 appearances in three years. This was followed by a three year stint at Lincoln City, again playing over 100 games for the Imps. In 2004, he dropped down to non-league football with Canvey Island, before a short period with Cambridge United. Ben arrived at Nene Park in November 2006 and made one starting appearance for the club against the Daggers, and came off the bench for the last couple of minutes in his other two outings.

He was released on 5 January 2007 however, and joined Conference South side Havant & Waterlooville. He moved from there to Boston United via Chelmsford City and King’s Lynn, for the closing months of the 2008 / 2009 season, but was released by the Pilgrims at the end of the season. He joined Northern Premier Division One South side Stamford AFC as a player / coach in June 2009, before retiring at the end of the 2010/2011 season.
