Ashlee joined Diamonds after leaving the youth set up at Southampton and played several games for the under 18s at the start of the 2005/06 season. He got a first team opportunity in November 2005 when Barry Hunter chose him in goal for the Hillier Senior Cup tie at Rothwell Town. Despite playing well, he did not get another chance and was released in May 2006.

He joined Basingstoke Town on 11 August 2006, before playing for Harrow Borough in March 2007. He moved to Potters Bar Town the following season, before having a trial with Bromley in July 2008. He joined Crawley Town on non-contract forms at the beginning of the 2008/09 season before being released again. He moved to Fisher Athletic in November 2008, before signing for Wycombe Wanderers on 6 March 2009 as cover for the injured Scott Shearer. He was later released by Wycombe, and played a few games for Gillingham reserves before signing for Ryman League Premier side Kingstonian on 14 September 2009. His stay was short-lived and he was signed by struggling League Two side Darlington on 29 October 2009, making just 1 appearance before his contract was cancelled by mutual consent on 16 February 2010. After training with Crystal Palace, he was signed by Isthmian League Premier side Billericay Town on 26 March 2010, as cover for another injured ex Diamond, Paul Nicholls. After starting the 2010/2011 season with Billericay, he moved to Boreham Wood on 13 September 2010, but was released on 14 January 2011, returning to Billericay Town. On 2 August 2011, Ashlee signed for newly promoted Conference side Braintree Town. After one season with Braintree, Ashlee signed for Isthmian Premier side Canvey Island on 17 August 2012, before leaving at the end of the season. On 27 July 2013, Ashlee signed a one-year deal with fellow Isthmian Premier side Lowestoft Town, helping them to promotion to the Conference North. Spells at Leiston (2015/16), and Chesham (2016-17) followed before he joined East Thurrock United for the 2017/18 campaign, although he was not retained by them at the end of that season. After a further spell on the books at Braintree he joined Bedford Town in early 2019. His Wikipedia page is here.
