Ishmale joined Diamonds youth set up from Port Vale and was given a chance to impress in the Maunsell Cup semi-final tie against Northampton Town, coming on as a second half substitute. The left sided winger failed to win a contract at the end of his apprenticeship and was released in May 2005.
He went on to play for Cradley Town in the Midland Football Alliance, before a spell with Rocester. He joined Conference North side Stafford Rangers in February 2008 where his brother Levi had previously played, but fell out of favour and joined Leek Town of the Northern Premier League on 31 March 2009. He then played local league football in the Staffordshire area, most recently with Woolpack FC
