Luke started out with the youth team at Peterborough United, and went out on loan to Deeping Rangers early in 2004. He then joined Rushden & Diamonds at the start of the 2004/05 season, making several appearances for the youth team before being given his debut in the Maunsell Cup defeat against Northampton Town in September 2004. The talented young midfielder made several appearances on the bench but failed to break into the first team on a regular basis.

After being retained the following summer, he made only one further appearance before being released by mutual consent on 28 February 2006. He joined Cambridge City for the remainder of the season, then played for Kings Lynn, Stamford and Wisbech Town the following year. He moved to Blackstones during the 2007/08 season, but joined Spalding United on 8 August 2008. After a single season, he joinedDeeping Rangers of the UCL Premier Division in August 2009, then moved to Ridgeons Premier side Wisbech Town in August 2010. In February 2011, Luke signed for UCL side Holbeach Town, but left at the end of the season, joining Southern League side St.Neots Town in July 2011 for their pre-season fixtures, but returned to UCL side Holbeach Town for the start of the 2011/2012 season. After a season with the Tigers, Luke joined fellow UCL Premier side Spalding United on 31 May 2012. After a season with the Tulips, he signed for Peterborough Northern Star in July 2013, captaining the side. On 4 July 2014, Luke joined UCL Premier side Huntingdon Town. He left football to concentrate on a personal coaching business.
