Simon started his career with Tottenham Hotspur, although never made it into the first team. He joined Brentford in August 1997, but failed to impress and made only 8 appearances before being released at the end of the season. Although he was given a short term contract at Brighton & Hove Albion, injury thwarted any chance of first team football so he decided to drop down to the non-league game, joining Dover Athletic in September 1998. After some impressive performance, Brian Talbot brought him to Nene Park on 17 March 2000 for a £50,000 transfer fee.
Despite making 33 appearances, he failed to reproduce his previous form and was eventually released on 5 October 2001, joining Stevenage Borough where he spent the next 2½ years. After a short period at Hornchurch, he returned to his birthplace to join Crawley Town, before moving on to join Conference South side Lewes in July 2006. After helping them gain promotion to the Conference in May 2008, the resultant upheaval in the club saw him move along the coast as he opted to sign for Eastbourne Borough in June 2008, but after a season at Priory Lane, he joined Southern League Premier Division side Farnborough on 12 June 2009. He left by mutual consent, and rejoined Conference South side Lewes on 24 May 2010. In order to concentrate on a career outside football, Simon moved to his local team, Sussex County League side Three Bridges on 10 December 2010. On 13 June 2011, he was appointed Youth Team Manager at Lewes, but became caretaker manager of the First Team following the suspension of Steve King on 11 January 2012. He tore his knee ligaments in April and officially announced his retirement, at the same time he was appointed First Team Manager at Lewes. Following a disappointing 2012/2013 season where the Rooks only just avoided relegation, he was relieved of his duties on 30 April 2013. On 4 June 2013 however, Simon was appoined Manager at Isthmian Division One South side Crawley Down Gatwick. After a successful start to the season however, Simon resigned his position on 4 November 2013, due to personal reasons. In early-February 2014, Simon became manager of the Three Bridges Academy Under 19 side, and prior to the transfer embargo, registered to play for the first team in the Isthmian Division One South at the end of March. He then became Head Coach at Three Bridges in the summer of 2014.
