David was a quick young striker who was spotted playing for Shepshed Dynamo and came to Nene Park for a trial in January 2000. He had started out as a trainee with Coventry City, before spending a short period with Luton Town. While with the Hatters, he went on loan to Northwich Victoria. He played just a single game for Diamonds against Kettering Town in the Hillier Senior Cup.

A brief period with Stratford Town followed before having a trial with Hereford United, and then joining Rugby Town in November 2000. David moved to Solihull Borough in May 2005 and after a single season, joined Leamington FC in July 2006. He then moved to Woodford United at the start of the 2007/08 season,before re-signed for Rugby Town in November 2007. David returned to Unibond Division One South side Shepshed Dynamo in January 2010, but then joined Midland Football Alliance club Stratford Town on 2 April 2010. In July 2011, David joined Southern League Premier side Barwell. He has since retired from the game.
