Lee was born in Bristol and started his career as a trainee at Bristol Rovers. He went on the make the first team and played over 150 games during his seven years at the club. During his final season at the Memorial Stadium, he went out on loan to Yeovil Town, before being released in the summer of 1998.

Brian Talbot brought the winger to Nene Park, but he failed to impress and only made seven first team appearances before being released.

He joined Yeovil Town in June 1999 but only made a handful of appearances during his second spell at the club. He was released at the end of the 1999/2000 season. He left the game shortly after that, but made three cameo appearances as injury cover for Gloucester City in 2010. He currently runs a fitness company.
