Born in Peterborough, Andy was a member of Norwich City’s youth team squad during the 1994/1995 season, winning England Schoolboys honours. He was released by the Canaries without making a first team appearance. He initially joining Kettering Town briefly, before moving to Nene Park for the 1997/1998 season. He played mainly reserve football, and appeared on the subs bench for several games before being given his first team debut on his 19th birthday, when he came on as a second half substitute. Unfortunately, he gave away a free-kick which led to Cheltenham’s winning goal. Nicknamed “Boris”, the highly rated youngster made just one other substitute appearances for Diamonds some ten weeks later. After his release at the end of the season, he joined Raunds Town and went on to play for a number of non-league sides including Bedford Town, Stamford, Baldock Town and Spalding United. He was playing for UCL side Yaxley in September 2002, and spent several years with the club, before joining Deeping Rangers in 2007. After a year at Deeping, he is believed to have retired from the game.
