Peter won Rushden Town’s final “Player of the Year” award in their final season, having been ever-present throughout the season, and scoring 28 goals. The striker made the move to Nene Park with a number of other players from the squad in the summer of 1992. His previous clubs included Kettering Town, Wellingborough Town, Kings Lynn and Grimsby Town. He was on the bench for Rushden & Diamonds first League game, and had the distinction of being their first ever substitute, but he failed to break into the first team and was released at the end of September joining Nuneaton Borough. Peter remained in local football, and was playing for Northampton Spencer in January 2000. He remains in Northamptonshire and managed ON Chenecks of the UCL for a couple of seasons. He returned there in August 2009 as part of their back-room staff. Outside of football, he runs his own courier business.
