Luke was an extremely talented wide attacking midfield player and was still with the Diamonds Youth setup when he made his two appearances for the first team in the Hillier Senior Cup. He was allocated the squad number 29 for the 2001/02 season, but was unable to make the full breakthough into the first team as it joined the Football League. He joined Tamworth during November 2001, initially on loan before signing a permenent deal in January 2002. He was transfer listed early in 2004, and is thought to have decided to quit the game at the end of the season.
