Daniel is the son of former manager Brian Talbot and started his career in Arsenal youth set up. He was brought to Nene Park on 5 July 2000 and became an important member of the youth side, with set pieces as his main attribute. He got an opportunity to play in the first team when he came on as substitute in he Nationwide Trophy game against Stevenage and thus became the youngest player to make an appearance for Rushden & Diamonds. The following season, he was allocated a squad number despite still being part of the youth team and made three League appearances. The following two seasons saw him mainly on the bench, although he did start four games in our only season in Division 2. Following his fathers departure, he fell out of favour and went on loan to Stevenage Borough in March 2004. Despite having a contract until the end of the 2004/05 season, he left by mutual consent on 17 February 2005.

Daniel Talbot

He joined Potters Bar Town where he enjoyed two seasons, becoming player of the year in his first season. In the summer of 2007, he joined Chesham United and remained with the Southern League Division One Midlands side for over five years and becoming club captain. He scored 23 goals in over 160 appearances before joining Southern League Premier side Hemel Hempstead Town on 1 November 2012.  He scored once in 28 appearances, and signed for a further year with the Tudors in late May 2013.
